Styled wedding – Jenny and Adam.
Styled shoots are always a lot of fun! You get to do everything you’d normally do on a typical wedding day without all of the pressure and hectic schedule. Though planning a shoot like this isn’t easy. Adding the title of wedding coordinator to your title adds a lot of work. Work to find the right location, pick an appropriate dress, flowers, hair and make up, and in some cases cakes and other decorations. So let’s talk about some of the incredible people that helped make this day happen.
I recently booked a wedding at the brand new Triple J Farm Events venue in Catawba, Virginia. Being a brand new venue, naturally I was curious how it looked. So I gave the owner, Kim, a call and asked if I could set up a shoot there. She was more than happy to accommodate. Now let me say that Triple J is a cute, rustic modern venue with a beautiful barn that has lots of sliding doors that open wide and bring the outdoors in! It’s scenic landscape is set in the mountains and there are horses nearby. You should check it out! They even have 2016 dates available!
With the location for the shoot locked down, the next thing to do was find the models. Jenny and Adam are an engaged couple who have been together for a long time. It shows in their comfort level with each other. They were magnificent during the shoot and let me capture their true feelings for one another. Besides being a model, Jenny is also a photographer. And a pretty good one at that! What a blessing she was! She was perfect for this styled shoot, and had so much fun helping plan it!
Now, we needed a dress. Well, Jenny introduced me to Alyce Haynes of The Newfangled Bride and she said she would be excited to help! Brides looking for dresses, shoes and accessories need to check her out! With new and consignment inventory, there is something there for every budget! Oh, and did I mention that they are also a florist? Yep. Alyce did the florals for our shoot as well!
With things lining up nicely, we needed to pamper our model bride with some hair and make up. That’s where the incredible Glam by Holly Jade came into play! A fantastic make-up artist with a fun-loving personality to match! We all had a great time during hair and make up! Holly is no stranger to making brides (and bridal parties) beautiful for their big day and she knocked it out of the park for our shoot!
Finally, what wedding is complete without a cake? Sarah Blanchard of Fresh Baked had us covered! We picked up her gorgeous, muti-tiered cake and decorated it to match our bride’s florals and it looked incredible! I’m a huge fan of cake in general, so if you need a cake for your wedding, shower or other event, give her a call!
