Having the absolute pleasure of taking Melissa and Matt’s engagement photos last year, I already knew how fun and easy going they were. So when the time came for their wedding, I was almost as cool about it as they were. These two were the epitome of relaxed. They both seemed to have so much fun on their wedding day and it showed in their photos! If you’re looking for wedding role models, these two can show you how it’s done!
So, the day came. It was finally here! We had a schedule to follow. We had a shot list. We had a beautiful location at Devil’s Backbone Casa & Lawn. It was a pretty normal wedding scenario if you think about it. But late summer/early fall weddings can throw you a curve ball sometimes and we got a little something we hadn’t counted on: rain. But just a little bit. You see, we had talked about taking some beautiful sunset portraits on the lawn and then a freak rain shower showed up. But these two, this easy going couple, weren’t the slightest bit worried about it. They knew we had tons of great photos in the bag already. They were satisfied. Happy. And then, out came a rainbow. Needless to say, we all sprinted out into the lawn and got some amazing photos directly underneath an almost complete arc of beautiful color!
The reception was as relaxed as the wedding and everyone had a great time. The dance floor was perfect, the DJ was on fire and the bubbles and glow stick exit was beautiful! Other than a brief sprinkling of rain in the afternoon, the day went off without a hitch. Well, I guess other than a Carroll getting hitched to a Lanzara!
